Bay Area Master Tracker

Cougar TrackLearn about animals through the tracks and sign they leave behind. This week we will scour the landscape for tracks, chew marks, digs, and even scat (poop).

Learn to plaster cast a track, stalk wild animals and tell the size and gender of a deer from the track.

Field trip locations this week include Wildcare Abbot’s Lagoon in Pt.Reyes and a local ranch.

Finding Animals

We look for all kinds of animal tracks and sign: beaver, otter, raccoon, deer, fox, coyote, muskrat, bobcat and more! We learn what the difference is between them all and make casts of the footprints of all the different creatures we find.

All this, plus we explore stealth skills with fun games in an effort to better observe the wildlife. We master the secrets of the scouts, learning to move with the bird calls so they don't alert the deer and other animals of our approach.

Mobile Camps visit the farms, beaches and wild spots of Marin. There are so many amazing places to explore in Marin. From beaches to farms our mobile camps take kids to places they would go if they could drive.
