In this workshop, we search for and identify popular edible and medicinal mushrooms. First learning about mushrooms can be overwhelming. Especially when it comes to understanding what is safe to eat. There are so many different types of mushrooms, some edible, some poisonous and to the untrained eye, very difficult to tell apart. This is a class for beginners wanting to know where to start.   By learning some basic differences and similarities in mushroom families, this class gives you the foundations you need for more advanced understanding of mycology.

The Course

Through a mixture of hands on activities and presentation students develop a basic foundation of mushroom identification. Our goal is to have you leave well on our way to more advanced work.
