Wilderness Survival Immersion

Spend a year studying outdoor skills with expert instructors. Learn wilderness survival, bushcraft and tracking. Each month, craft essential gear for your primitive survival kit (while losing the modern equivalent). Finally, test your knowledge and preparation in a 4-day spring survival trek.

Rangers Camp Overnights

At the heart of this program are our monthly weekend overnights. Each day your team trains in outdoor skills with core Trackers instructors. In the evening we recreate a village while cooking over open fires. And every moment we rekindle a deep connection to nature as we learn traditional ways of living.

How It Works

Weekend Overnights: Immersion students attend 8 total monthly training weekends from September to April. During this time you build experience and craft items for your primitive survival kit to use on your 4-Day Survival Trek. We also expect students to spend personal field time practicing their skills beyond these weekends. Check out the class schedule ..

4-Day Survival Trek: During the survival trek you use your handcrafted primitive gear along with the experience you cultivated throughout the program on a foraging expedition.

Program staff includes our top Trackers instructors. Founders, core staff, and many members of the Trackers community attend. It is a learning environment rich with in-depth knowledge, experience, and opportunity.

Registration Policy Information

To secure your space for Fall 2018 we will require a non-refundable $75 deposit per student. In August, all students will have the opportunity to enroll in our monthly payment plan. Your tuition is divided into nine equal payments (less your deposit). Payments are automatically debited once monthly from September – May. Please note that registrations are for a full year; however, we do allow for mid-season withdrawals per our cancellation policy (see below).

Cancellation and Withdrawal Policy

Because of our small group sizes, we are greatly impacted by mid-year cancellations and withdrawals. Please carefully look at the calendar dates above and weigh well if this is a commitment that fits with your schedule and needs. Nevertheless, we understand that the needs of students may change during the year. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • We request a two-week courtesy notice prior to withdrawals.
  • For all withdrawals from the Immersion program, a withdrawal fee equal to one monthly payment will apply.
  • After the withdrawal fee has been subtracted, we will refund any pre-paid tuition prorated for time not attended.
  • We cannot offer credit for program days missed due to illness, family vacations, work commitments, etc.

Rangers Guild

Rangers Guild

The Rangers Guild are the scouts of the forest. Students train in stealth, tracking, and wilderness survival skills. If you ever loved the books My Side of the Mountain or Lord of the Rings the Rangers Guild is where you want to be.

Rangers may build a shelter, learn to carve wood, safely make fire with no matches, craft simple bows, or play fun stealth games to build outdoor fitness. They can loose an arrow with keen aim and steady eye.

Rangers are also master naturalists. They know the language and sign of all birds, beasts, and plants that live in wild.
